This past December, the issue of taking a gun to church came to the fore in our national conversation and centered on Jack Wilson, a 71-year-old deputy minister, shot and killed by a gunman during a West Freeway service at the Church of Christ. . This Glock 19 was created from the beginning with the purpose of carrying the church. However, in Matt's case, it's not just a case of taking to the church for self-defense reasons but being part of the church's volunteer defense team means that he should know what he's doing, not take it. To be accepted as part of the security detail, Matt and the others must go through a weapons training program. This program is actually the weapons component of basic police training that is classified by the Arizona Peace Officer Standards and Training Board, or AZPOST. Of course, since Matt is an engineer here at Apex, and works on all the guns we make parts for, his role in the church is very broad. Being the most knowledgeable person when it comes to firearms, Matt has been promoted as the armorer of the church congregation. He might be the best church armorer in the country - assuming Scott and/or Randy aren't sitting in the pews.

Building the Church Gun While his other gun is a Glock 43, Matt decided on a new Gen 5 Glock 19 MOS for church use. It makes sense to go with another Glock, especially the 19. Aftermarket upgrades for the Glock are legion with many companies, including Apex, offering products to build the gun. Glock's modular optic system being a MOS model with a slide design that allows you to mount a variety of optics, as the name suggests, Matt's plan was to equip the gun with a reddit all along. This is a nearly new Aimpoint® Acro P-1 Gen 5 mounted on a 19 slide. It's easy to install as Aimpoint offers the Acro Adapter Plate for the Glock MOS (Item 200520), along with other popular gun options. So, why Acro? However, Matt wanted a mounted optic, which gives it a more complete proof, especially when it comes to removing dust and debris to stop the redit. Yes, before you say anything, the battery life needs to be controlled, but it is not as bad as you are led to believe. The height above the slide, or any reddit, means changing the views for high pressure views. These sights have been upgraded to Ameriglo 3-Dot Tritium Suppressor Height Sights.

Of course, for us here at Apex, this is a factor that has a big impact on performance. The last thing you want in a gun is a gunfight, this G19 Gen 5 has been updated with the Action Enhancement Kit for Glock. This unit offers easy pull with low travel, low recoil, comfortable comfort and a weight of around 1kg. And since trigger control is the king there is none when it comes to accurate shooting, a better trigger allows for more control. Not a bad idea if you have to shoot your gun in a crowded church. Rounding out the G19 package is the Glock for Enforce APLc with its 200 white light bulb. The light doesn't need to be bright, but it fits nicely inside when the lights are off. And it's good to have it when you need it. Therefore, the soil is ready if light is needed. Finally, the updated Gen 5 Glock 19 must be concealed and to do so Matt chose the Tier 1 concealment Axis Slim IWB holster. The Axis Slim is a cable carrying attachment that uses a shock cord to connect the gun to the spare magazine. By using wire, the rig has more flexibility so that the gun can be held closer to the body without the magazine, making it easier to carry in many everyday tasks. When it comes to getting picked up every day — or just going to church on Sunday — you have to go with what works best for you. What works for Matt may be completely different and not what you would have chosen, but that doesn't make it a bad style. must not.
